Glossary of the metrics on these dashboards.
Every term below is a series or a figure on a dashboard Entropy builds and operates. The definitions are the ones the dashboards use — how the number on that chart is computed, not how the industry generally uses the word.
Each term links to the board it is plotted on. If you arrived here from a chart, find its board heading and the entry will be under it.
Robinhood Chain · Overview
Assets, stablecoins, DeFi TVL and DEX activity on Robinhood Chain.
- Protocol TVL
Total value locked across Robinhood Chain protocols. It excludes stablecoin market cap, to avoid double counting: part of that supply is already counted where it sits inside a protocol such as Uniswap or Morpho.
- TVL by Protocol Type
The share of Robinhood Chain TVL held by each category of protocol on the most recent day — spot DEXs, perp DEXs, lending, liquid staking, asset management, prediction markets.
- Asset Landscape
Market cap of every asset issued on Robinhood Chain, split by asset type.
- Stablecoin Market Cap
Market cap of stablecoins issued on Robinhood Chain, by symbol.
- Canonical Bridge TVL
Total value bridged onto Robinhood Chain through the canonical bridge. It measures the bridge, not the chain — assets that arrived another way are not in it.
- Canonical Bridge Flow
Daily inflows and outflows through the canonical bridge, stacked into one bar per day, with net flow overlaid.
Robinhood Chain · Blockspace
Transactions, addresses, throughput, fail rate and gas fees, with the contracts consuming the most blockspace.
- Transactions
Daily transaction count, with the cumulative total since launch overlaid.
- Active Addresses
Addresses transacting on a given day. The cumulative line beside it counts each address once, so it is unique addresses ever seen, not a sum of the daily bars.
- Contract Creations
Contracts deployed each day, with the cumulative total overlaid.
- Average Throughput
Average transactions per second and megagas per second across the day — how much of the block is being used, in both counts and gas.
- Transaction Fail Rate
Failed transactions as a share of all transactions. A high fail rate is not on its own evidence of a bad experience: it often comes from traders setting low slippage tolerance on volatile pairs.
- Average & Median Gas Fees
Average and median transaction fee in USD, plotted together. The two diverge when a small number of transactions pay far more than the rest, which is why both are shown.
- Average Gas Price
Average gas price paid on the chain, in gwei.
- Top Contracts by Blockspace
Contracts ranked by gas spent, with 30-day interaction counts — what the chain is actually being used for, by consumption rather than by name.
Robinhood Chain · Economics
Where fee revenue goes: Ethereum posting costs, the Arbitrum licensing share, and the gross profit left over.
- Fee Revenue
Transaction fees collected on Robinhood Chain. It is the top line the rest of this board decomposes.
- Ethereum Cost
What the chain pays Ethereum to post its data, split into L1 transaction costs and blob costs.
- Blob Cost
The part of the Ethereum cost paid for blob space — the data availability half of posting to Ethereum, as opposed to the L1 transaction cost of settling.
- Arbitrum Licensing Fee
The licensing share owed to Arbitrum on Robinhood Chain revenue. Net revenue — fee revenue after Ethereum posting costs — splits 90/10, and this is the 10%.
- Chain Retained Revenue
The other 90% of net revenue: what the chain keeps after Ethereum posting costs and the Arbitrum licensing share.
- Gross Profit Margin
Fee revenue net of Ethereum posting costs and the Arbitrum licensing share, expressed as a share of fee revenue.
- Cumulative Gross Profit
The running total of gross profit since launch — fee revenue less both Ethereum posting costs and the Arbitrum licensing share.
- Annualized Fee Revenue
Daily fee revenue multiplied by 365 to give a run-rate, smoothed with 7-day and 30-day moving averages. It is a projection of one day's economics onto a year, not a figure that has been earned.
- Total Fee Revenue
Fee revenue collected since the chain launched.
Robinhood Chain · Spot Trading
AMM liquidity, spot DEX volume and launchpad token deployments.
- AMM Liquidity
Onchain automated market maker liquidity, by DEX protocol. Long-tail assets are not included.
- Spot DEX Volume
Daily spot trading volume across all onchain liquidity sources on the chain, split by protocol.
- Spot DEX Volume Breakdown
The same volume as a share by pair category rather than by protocol — memecoin pairs and ETH-USD pairs are tracked separately, so the mix is visible rather than implied.
- Launchpad Tokens Deployment
Tokens created each day, by launchpad platform.
Robinhood Chain · Stock Tokens
Tokenized stocks: value by token and asset type, mint and burn flow, DEX volume, and the ranked asset list.
- Total Tokenized Value
The total USD value of tokenized stocks issued on Robinhood Chain.
ProvisionalThe dashboard reports a USD value but does not state the price source used to convert tokenized shares into it.
- Tokenized Value by Asset Type
The same value split by what is being tokenized — equities, US Treasuries, and the other asset types issued on the chain.
- Daily Mint & Burn Volume
Tokens issued (minted) and redeemed (burned) each day. It measures issuance and redemption, not trading.
- Daily Mint/Burn Volume by Token
The same flow for one selected ticker, in shares as bars and USD as lines.
- Holders by Token
Holders of a stock token, counting only addresses with a balance over one dollar. Dust balances are excluded, so this is smaller than a raw holder count.
- Stock Token DEX Volume
Daily onchain trading volume of the stock tokens, stacked by protocol. Separate from mint and burn volume — this is secondary trading.
- Assets Tokenized
The latest snapshot of every tokenized asset on the chain, ranked by market cap.
Robinhood Chain · Morpho
Morpho lending on Robinhood Chain: market size and borrow by collateral, vault TVL, and the ranked vault list.
- Total Market Size
Total supplied across Morpho lending markets on the chain, broken out by symbol.
- Total Borrowed
The portion of that market size currently borrowed, across Morpho markets on the chain.
- Vaults TVL
Total value held across Morpho vaults on the chain, and per vault over time.
- Total APY
A vault's yield including incentives, as of the latest snapshot — not the base lending rate alone.
- Curator
The party listed against each vault in the ranked vault table, alongside its TVL and APY.
ProvisionalThe dashboard names a curator per vault but does not state what a curator controls, so nothing further is claimed here.
Variational · Overview
Volume, open interest, TVL, leverage skew and account activity.
- Volume Over Time
Daily traded volume across every listed market, split by market group. The headline figure beside it is trailing-24h volume.
- Open Interest
Gross open interest across every listed market, excluding the OLP. Stacked by market group, so the top edge is protocol-wide OI.
- Open Interest (OLP Included)
The same measure with the OLP counted, which is why it reads higher than the excluding-OLP series beside it.
- TVL
Onchain total value locked across the five Variational components: the Core OLP Vault, OLP hedging, the referral reward pool, the settlement pool and the treasury balance.
- Long/Short Ratio
Protocol-wide long open interest divided by short open interest, summed across all markets. Above 1.0 the book is long-heavy; below, short-heavy.
- Active Accounts
Accounts with any inflow or outflow on a given day, shown with new accounts and a cumulative account count.
- Markets Listed
The count of markets quoted on the latest snapshot.
Variational · Markets
Per-market detail: the 24h trade distribution, the long/short skew table, and one market at a time.
- Quoted Spread (100k)
The quoted spread in basis points at a $100,000 trade size, derived from a market's bid and ask quotes. It is the cost of trading at that size, not the top-of-book spread.
- OI Turnover
How many times a market's open interest turns over per day: 24-hour volume divided by gross open interest.
- Annualized Funding Rate
The funding rate for a market, annualized. Positive means longs pay shorts.
- Long / Short Skew by Token
The latest snapshot of per-market open interest, skew, funding and 24-hour volume, as one table.
- Gross Open Interest
Long and short open interest for a market taken together. On the per-market chart short OI is drawn below the zero line, so the extent either side of zero is the size of that side of the book.
- Trade Distribution (24H)
Each ticker's share of trailing-24h volume as of the latest snapshot. Markets past the tile cap are bundled into one 'Other' tile.
Variational · TradFi
The tokenized real-world asset side of the book: its share of volume, open interest and market count, and what it costs to trade.
- TradFi
On this dashboard, the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) markets Variational lists, as against its crypto markets. Every metric on the board is measured across that subset.
ProvisionalThe board does not enumerate which classes of underlying are in scope, so no list of them is given here.
- TradFi Median Spread
The median quoted spread at $100,000 across the RWA markets, in basis points, plotted against the crypto median. The gap between the two bands is what it costs to trade a tokenized asset rather than a perp.
- Top TradFi Markets
Every RWA market on the latest snapshot, ranked by 24-hour volume, with its open interest, skew and funding.
Variational · Financials
Treasury balance and protocol revenue, from onchain data.
- Treasury Balance
USDC held by the Variational treasury wallet on Arbitrum, with the daily net change beside it.
- Cumulative Treasury Flow
USD inflows to the treasury wallet, read as protocol revenue, as daily bars with the running total overlaid.
- Daily Revenue
One day's USD inflow to the treasury wallet. Buy-back analytics are not part of this board.
How these are measured
Metrics are computed from onchain data and, where a board says so, from external feeds. A figure may be estimated, derived or restated, and a methodology may change. Each dashboard shows when it last updated.
Where a dashboard does not state how something is measured, that is said here rather than filled in. Entries carrying a provisional marker are offered as descriptions of what the board shows, not as definitions we are standing behind.
The full terms are in the disclaimer. To read these series programmatically rather than as charts, see the API.
